The exchangers in this category are made up of a set of finned tubes assembled and welded according to precise schemes designed according to the operating conditions. The finned tubes used are produced directly in the DAV COIL plants under the conditions described in the pages dedicated to finned tubes. The diameters normally used are ø15.88mm or ø17.2mm and ø21.3mm, both in carbon steel and in stainless steel, while the fins can be in aluminum, copper, steel, galvanized steel or in stainless steel 304/316, with finning pitch ranging from a minimum of 3mm up to a maximum of 14mm. The choice of materials is made according to the performance and conditions indicated by the customer. The maximum temperature of use is 350 ° C, a condition within which the fin, thanks to the elasticity reserve, is able to follow the tube in thermal expansion, ensuring the characteristics of thermal transmission.

DAV COIL is also able to produce integral fin heat exchangers. Unlike finned tube exchangers, the fin is formed directly from a punched tape, cut into the shape resulting from the final dimensions of the heat exchanger, positioned one after the other according to a finning step. After which they are assembled together with the frame and once the tubes have been inserted, we proceed with the expansion, that is with the expansion of the tube performed through a mandrel that penetrates inside it, fixing the fin to the tube. Once the radiant pack has been finned, consisting of a set of fins and tubes, the curves and manifolds are welded according to a precise circuit, studied by the technical office, which allows the fluids to circulate inside the tubes in a optimal. The materials used are chosen according to the applications. The pipes can be in copper, steel, stainless steel, while the fins in copper, aluminum, steel, stainless steel. The pack exchangers are particularly recommended in refrigeration applications, while heating applications are limited, in the case of aluminum fins up to 150 ° C and 200 ° / 230 ° C with stainless steel fins. The high exchange surface of this type of exchangers favors the use of Copper / Aluminum fins by virtue of the fact that these materials have a high thermal conductivity.
